InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort and Spa is scheduled to open its doors to local residents from early October, just in time for Fiji Day.

The opening of this resort at Natadola Bay will be the first of its phased approach, offering weekend only bookings before completely opening all rooms and facilities for international guests.

“We are very excited about the prospect of welcoming our local residents back to Natadola Bay,” Area General Manager South Pacific Lachlan Walker said.

“The resort has been closed to guests for over five months and during this time our team has been keeping busy with minor but necessary cleaning and renovation projects.

“We have missed looking after guests and creating the amazing guest experiences that we are known for within our local market.”

Mr Walker said as a Care Fiji Commitment property, they had been working closely with the guidelines put together by Fiji’s Ministry of Health, Tourism Fiji and other industry stakeholders.

He said that had been further complemented by IHG’s Clean Promise, that brought to life additional COVID-19 protocols and advanced practices – many of which were already in place.

“These practices reflect the advice of regional and global health authorities including the World Health Organization, Centres for Disease Control & Prevention, and Fiji’s very own public health authorities.”

The resort will open its doors to from October 8.

As part of its phased opening, the resort will offer a limited amount of rooms and suites across multiple categories.

“The resort opens in time for the Fiji Day weekend and we look forward to welcoming our local residents back to Natadola Bay for a much-needed weekend escape with cleaner facilities, large pools and our amazing strip of white sandy beach.”
