HUNDREDS of families and friends crowded the corrections institution at Suva and Naboro today to share a Christmas lunch with their loved ones at the centre.

Assistant Commissioner Senior Superintendent of Fiji Corrections Service Sakiusa Veiwili said this was part of the institution’s corporate social responsibility.

“Our role is to ensure that when inmates are discharged, they are able to reconnect with their families,” Mr Veiwili said.

He said this program was only opened to those who were kept at the Suva Corrections Centre, Naboro Minimum and the Pre-release Centre.

He added FCS was working to ensure that when inmates were discharged, they were able to reintegrate into their families and society as well.
