INJURIES to Enele Malele and Poasa Waqanibau will give a chance to new players to force their way in the Fiji Airways Drua squad for the third National Provincial Championship match against Queensland Country at the BB Print Stadium in Mackay Queensland.

Both players sustained injuries in the 66-5 victory against Brisbane City at Churchill Park in Lautoka last Saturday.

Waqabuli was replaced by Malele in the 34th minute but lasted only six minutes on the field.

Fiji Drua captain Mosese Voka did not wish to elaborate much on the injuries but stated that there were a lot of young players in the team.

“These players will need to step up in the next few games,” Voka said.

“Without Malele and Waqanibau these boys will need to fill their shoes.”

The Fiji Drua departed for Australia yesterday morning and head into Queensland with two good victories under their belt.

Fiji Drua defeated Melbourne Rising 40-17 in the first round.

“The boys are really prepared for Saturday,” Voka said. “I think for this game we are going out for a win. Despite the last two wins the boys are more focused on job.”
