India approves signing of agriculture MoU

The Cabinet of India has given approval for the signing of a agricultural sector memorandum of understanding with Fiji.

This MoU will come into effect on the date of its signing and will remain in force for a period of five years

The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved the signing the MoU between the Ministry of Agriculture of Indian government and Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Fiji in this regard.

“Under the MoU, a Joint Working Group (JWG) will be constituted to set down procedures and plan and recommend programmes of cooperation towards achieving its aims through the executing agencies of the two countries,” a Government of India statement said.

The working group will hold its meeting alternately in India and Fiji once in every two years.

This MoU will come into effect on the date of its signing and will remain in force for a period of five years.
