Increased fuel and LPG prices effective Monday

CONSUMERS will have to fork out a little more for fuel and LPG when the new prices come into effect from Monday, July 15.

The new fuel price was announced by the Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission (FCCC) yesterday.

New fuel retail prices:

Motor spirit from $2 to $2.80 per litre ( up $0.80)

Premix from $1.84 to $2.02 per litre (up $0.18)

Kerosene from $1.54 to $1.62 per litre (up $0.08)

Diesel from $1.82 to $1.89 per litre (up $0.07)

New LPG prices:

4.5kg cylinder from $12.89 to $13.36 (up $0.47)

12kg cylinder from $34.37 to $35.89 (up $1.52)

13kg cylinder from $37.23 to $38.88 (up $1.65)

Bulk – from $2.41 per kg to $2.52 per kg (up $0.11)

Auto gas per litre from $1.62 to $1.69 (up $0.07)

FCCC general manager Operations Senikavika Jiuta said the FCCC had reviewed the fuel prices and had consulted the various oil companies and stakeholders before making the announcement.
