THE University of South Pacific’s (USP) Pacific Technical and Further Education (Pacific TAFE) student registrations this year has seen an increase compared to last year.
Professor Richard Coll the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Learning, Teaching and Student Services highlighted this while officiating at the graduation of the 2018 Pacific TAFE Foundation Awards ceremony yesterday.
“Pacific TAFE had seen a growth of 5.05 per cent in its registrations till October 2018 compared to December last year and it has placed over 249 students into workplace attachment this year,” Professor Coll said.
“It has also produced top achievers and recorded an increased number of graduates while at the same time allowed its students, to showcase their talents to high profile dignitaries as well as to take part in competitions such as Moffat National Salon Culinaire this year where three (3) students won medals compared to one last year.”
A total of 256 students successfully completed their Foundation studies and were awarded the Certificate in Foundation Studies in Arts, Business and Science at the University’s Laucala Campus.
