When the Lautoka lockdown was announced, Asesela Dakua harvested avocados and bananas and sold them along Sukanaivalu Rd in Lautoka.

“I have to sell them so I can earn some money for my family,” the 60-year-old retiree said.

“There are not as many customers nowadays because people have been stuck at home this past week.”

Mr Dakua and his wife said they were well aware of the dangers associated with COVID-19 and always ensured they wore their masks and practised social distancing when dealing with customers.
