THE Nasinu Rugby Football Union (NRFU) and its sponsor Ram Sami and Sons Ltd will stage a fun run/walk event this Saturday which begins from the Nasinu Town Council Multi-Purpose Courts.
This is a first of its kind for the union and also serves as a build-up to the Ram Sami NRFU 7s tournament to be held next month on February 16-17.
The union has adopted a relevant community theme of “fighting non-communicable disease through rugby” and hopes to create awareness through its rugby-related activities and community-outreach programs.
The Wellness Unit of the Ministry of Health will also be there to provide free medical ups and counselling.
There will be warm-up Zumba exercises with the well-known Zumba and fitness instructor Litiana Miller, and thereafter a fun run/walk will be held from Multipurpose Court to around the Valelevu/Khalsa/Nasinu areas (Daniva rd, Khalsa Rd, Kings Rd, Kanace, Saqa Rd and back to the Courts, covering an area of approximately 3.8km.
President Paula Biu has extended the invitation to everyone who is available this weekend.
“We are inviting all the NRFU stakeholders —— affiliated clubs, sponsors, business house, friends and the community around Nasinu corridor to attend this event,” he said.
“We also extend the invitation to those who are interested in their wellbeing and live within the Nasinu area, or even from outside Nasinu.”
There will be complimentary prizes in this event.
