Ratu Cakobau Park successfully hosted the 2017 Fiji FACT which concluded just recently.
Now Fiji FA takes the second annual tournament to Labasa which kicks off this Friday. After Rewa, Labasa people get the opportunity to witness the year’s second major tournament in their town.
Rewa has been lucky to host at least one major tournament three years in a row. It is good to see tournaments rotated which not only helps generate more income, but also attracts fresh crowds every time.
At this juncture, I would like to urge the authorities to use the income generated to improve the parks. I believe little or no attention is given in this regard as the appearance of the park tells you. As time and tide change, people expect better facilities.
One of my friends told me that the wooden seats at Ratu Cakobau Park needed urgent replacement because of deterioration. Lautoka and Suva are setting good examples of how to look after your sporting arena and the rest can follow.
It is not good to see fans sitting the whole day in the sun. Slowly, you can make changes and improvements so that you do not lose hirers and income. Let the BOG begin.
