Australia’s Governor-General David Hurley has assured the people of Vanua Levu that they would continue to assist with projects to benefit the Fijian people.

Addressing students and parents at the Maramarua Primary School in Dreketi, Macuata yesterday, Mr Hurley said “money was not the heart of our relationship”.

In thanking the RFMF soldiers and the Australian Defence Force for building the new kindergarten at the school and repairing TC Yasa damaged schools, Mr Hurley said such initiative was all about the Matavuvale program.

Mr Hurley thanked the teachers and parents for their support in providing students with an excellent education.

He also visited the chiefly village of Naduri.
