ABOUT 40 staff members of Tanoa Waterfront Hotel conducted an early morning clean-up along Lautoka’s Marine Drive yesterday as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility.
Hotel general manager Narendra Kumar said the area was a popular hangout for locals and tourists.
“It is sad to see people are still littering and not making proper use of the rubbish bins located in the area,” he said.
Mr Kumar said litter strewn in an indiscriminate matter painted a negative picture to tourists who visited the country.
“I think people should be more mindful about this and they should not dispose their rubbish carelessly.”
