Hotel invests $3m in refurbishment

FIJI Gateway Resort celebrated a milestone this month when it turned 50 years old. One of the oldest hotels in Nadi, Fiji Gateway has withstood the test of time — adapting and thriving in Fiji’s tourism industry.

Now 50 years later, the hotel is almost at the end of a multi-million dollar refurbishment that would take the resort’s image to greater heights.

Raffel Hotels and Resorts CEO Bradley Robinson said the refurbishment was part of the hotel’s plans to adapt to the changing demands of guests. “The hotel has gone through many changes over the years,” he said.

“To this day, we continue to adapt and evolve with the hotel.

“With our public area and walk through almost complete, we also recently embarked on a refurbishment program that will be completely finished within the next 18 months.”

He said the resort would continue to improve on its services and outlook in years to come.

According to hotel management team, the $3.15 million project would span over two years.

The public area upgrade cost $650,000 while $2.15 million would be invested in room refurbishments.

Upgrade works are expected to be completed by mid-2020.
