The Labasa Hospital received five pulse oximeters last month to help healthcare professionals to monitor oxygen levels in patients.

This was made possible through a partnership between Pundit Ram Asre and the Budhia Charitable Foundation with Cure Kids Fiji to provide access to diagnostic equipment in the fight against COVID-19.

A statement read Cure Kids Fiji had worked with the Health Ministry to enable sustainable access to oxygen at healthcare centres around Fiji to treat children with pneumonia and other serious respiratory conditions and to assist in the outbreak of COVID-19 in Fiji.

Foundation official Narend Asre said they were proud to support the work by Cure Kids Fiji.

The Budhia Charitable Foundation (PRABF) is a non-profit public institution that provides relief aid and essentials for healthcare facilities in Fiji, including wheelchairs, personal protective equipment and other equipment for diagnosis and treatment.
