ONE day the Coke Zero Deans Trophy will be displayed in one of the secondary schools in the Coral Coast.
This was the message from Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort and Spa general manager Peter Hopgood to Nadroga Secondary Schools’ committee members when he handed over a sponsorship cheque of $5000 two months ago.
This might just be the case as Cuvu College is through into the under-18 final of the Western Secondary Schools Rugby Championship in Nadi this weekend.
“We believe in the development of rugby in our schools and we back it up through sponsorship,” he said.
“Our goal is to be Deans Trophy champions — we want the title to be sitting in the trophy room in one of our schools on the Coral Coast,” he said.
“And Outrigger’s ongoing support to our local schools is our way of trying to achieve that.
“We also want to provide the opportunity so that young school boys can hopefully one day play for Nadroga and then finally Fiji.”
