THE Fijiana 7s team is hoping to ride on the Fiji men’s 7s team’s success in Hong Kong 7s when the side competes in the Women’s HSBC Kitakyushu 7s in Japan next weekend.

The Saiasi Fuli-coached team went through an eight -week training program after winning the trophy title during the Sydney 7s in early February.

During the program Fuli changed the mindset of the players in order for them go on to the field and perform to win games.

“My focus and task is to create that positive attitude and mental fortitude in the girls to prepare well and win games.

“It was a very tough eight weeks for us since our last engagement in Sydney.

It was good preparation in terms of how we developed the girls physically in the gymnasium.

The focus in the first four weeks was on conditioning and to get the girls into a good shape.

“Preparation is focused on competing well and keep trying to win games.”
