Fiji Football Association is keeping their fingers crossed concerning the possibility Roy Krishna to feature against Estonia tomorrow.
Krishna was initially ruled out of this clash because of club committments, however their A-League game for this week has been cancelled.
The Vodafone National team manager Shamal Sharma confirmed this saying the federation had been trying everything to get Roy for the international friendly clash.
“The president Rajesh Patel and chief executive officer Mohammed Yusuf are talking to Wellington Phoenix to get Krishna for the game since their A-League game for this week has been cancelled.
“Should everything go well, we might see Roy getting the next available flight to Fiji and feature on Sunday,” Sharma said.
Patel confirmed Krishna’s coach has given him the release.
“We’re trying very hard as there were certain conditions by Wellington Phoenix. The game between Western Sydney and Wellington Phoenix has been cancelled this weekend so the coach has agreed to release him.
“We have to meet certain things for Roy to come and Fiji Airways is facilitating a flight for him.
“We’re keeping our fingers crossed and the fans can expect Roy to feature on Sunday. We are 95 per cent sure for his availability.”
The team, meanwhile, is facing injuries.
“Misaele Draunibaka and goalkeeper Tevita Koroi have serious injuries which might rule them out of the Estonia clash.”
Simione Tamanisau, who was also ruled out because of work commitments, would be recalled to join the side.
Meanwhile, Fiji Football Association has appointed Shamal Sharma as the Vodafone National Football team manager. Sharma is the sponsorship specialist for football at Vodafone.
