Honey heals villagers

APART from the monetary benefits that they are expected to reap from the sale of honey in their bee farms, Batiri villagers in at the border of Macuata and Cakaudrove have begun experiencing the healing powers of honey.
Batiri Village headman Jone Naiqiso said 300 villagers were involved in the project.
Mr Naiqiso said cases of diabetic patients whose sores and cuts could not heal in the village had been treated by honey, a lot have healed.
Open cuts, Mr Naiqiso said healed a lot better in a shorter period if treated with honey.
He said those suffering from flu and simple coughs could use honey as a remedy to their sickness.
