Homes of Hope raise $30k

Update: 4:39PM ALMOST $30,000 was raised at the Gala Dinner to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Homes of Hope at the Novotel Convention Centre in Lami last Saturday.
An additional $2000 from the auction will be used for the Residents Social Services on campus and the completion of the construction of the Community Gathering and Training Centre in Wailoku.
Homes of Hope, founded 20 years ago by Pastor Mark and Lynnie Roche, operates annually on over $100,000 for its Residential Campus Programs and relies on donor funding for community programs.
A statement from the training centre acknowledged the sponsors for the night for their contribution in supporting the service in battling the worst forms of child labour and sexual exploitation of children.
Novotel along with Rotary Club, Suva were the major sponsors.
Other corporate sponsors included the iTaukei Land Trust Board, Fiji National Provident Fund, Harcourts, Jacks Fiji, Bluescope, Young and Associates, Goodman Fielder, RC Manubhai, Home Finance, PNG High Commission, Victoria Wines, Vodafone Fiji, Office Machine, Pioneer Concrete, Quality Print, Safetec, Tanz, Harvest Supermarket, Partners, Anglican Church and Red Cross.
