MOBILE telecommunications company Vodafone Fiji Ltd has launched its newest internet service, enabling customers to benefit from high-speed internet connection at a low cost.
In a statement, Vodafone said the asymmetric digital subscriber line (ADSL) service was a novel broadband technology that enabled faster data transmission and communication over the traditional landlines than the conventional voice-band modem could provide.
“The service is ideal for customers seeking high performance and consistent speeds on their Internet connection in homes which can be made available through existing landline cables,” the company said.
“A splitter is used to provide the connectivity to the ADSL which is separate line to the voice connectivity.”
Vodafone said the ADSL set-up could give dedicated download speeds of up to 10mbps and upload speeds of up to 1mbps and was great for users who downloaded and streamed videos, and played games online with consistent high speed 24/7 internet connection.
The company’s general manager sales, Rajnesh Prasad, said there were attractive plans on offer through the ADSL internet package.
