The High Court in Suva has ordered for another psychiatric report to be conducted in the case involving a 21-year-old woman accused of murdering her newborn.
Venina Lagilagi appeared before judge Justice Riyaz Hamza yesterday charged with one count of murder.
It is alleged Ms Lagilagi committed the offense last year.
The defence requested for a psychiatric report pertaining to her financial and social circumstances.
It also asked for charges to be reduced to infanticide.
Justice Hamaz fixed a trial date for the matter from July 20 to July 24 and also ordered a social welfare report on the accused.
Bail was extended and the matter has been adjourned to June 25.
