Hickes happy with performance on Uruguay campaign

TFL Fiji Warriors crack centre Fredrick Hickes is working hard to fulfil his goal of becoming a Flying Fijian.

The Nadi rugby rep said the Uruguay rugby tour had set the platform for his rugby dream and he would do his best to achieve his goal.

Hickes said he had learnt a lot from the experienced players in the team such as captain Rupeni Nasiga, Eremasi Radrodro and Nemani Nagusa to name a few.

“I have learnt a lot from the experienced boys in the team such as Nasiga and it really improved my game,” he said.

“I am honoured to be part of this team and I am satisfied with my performance.

“The tour has also given me the confidence to chase my dream and all the lessons learnt from this tour will help me shape my career.”

Like all other Fijian rugby players, Hickes said his goal was to represent the country.

“I am taking each step at a time and my goal is to secure a spot in the Flying Fijians team. I know it is not an easy task but will continue to work hard until I achieve my dream.”

Hickes said the Uruguay Rugby tour was a good opportunity to expose his talents and gauge his standard against his overseas opponents.
