Kamikamica Health Centre in Lautoka will operate 24 hours a day.

Chief medical adviser Dr Jemesa Tudravu said this was to allow the Lautoka Hospital to operate as a COVID hospital only.

Only cases which are positive for COVID-19 will be admitted and treated at Lautoka Hospital

. Also operational in Lautoka are the Punjas Health Centre and Viseisei Health Centre.

“Kamkamica Health Centre will operate for 24 hours a day, Punjas Health Centre ceases operations at 8pm and so Kamkamica Health Centre will be the only health centre that will be operating throughout the night,” Dr Tudravu said.

“For expecting mothers, Veiseisei Health Centre will operate 24 hours a day providing for your care and for the delivery of babies.”

Dr Tudravu said all outpatients presented at the health facilities will be swabbed for COVID-19.

Meanwhile, with the Raiwaqa Health Centre temporarily closed, patients who need treatment need to go to Samabula Health Centre in Suva, the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Medical Centre at Suva Point or the Valelevu Health Centre in Nasinu.
