Harness rural and maritime growth important, says PS

RURAL development and production could be enhanced and made more efficient with proper infrastructure and access to services or technology.

Ministry of Rural and Maritime Development permanent secretary David Kolitagane shared this at the opening of the APO Workshop on Rural Community Development for Sustainable and Inclusive Growth at Nadi’s Tanoa International Hotel yesterday.

“I strongly feel that properly addressing rural development can help Government and development institutions address the fundamental challenges we face in eliminating poverty and hunger,” Mr Kolitagane said.

“In other words, to address poverty and hunger, we must adequately harness rural and maritime growth and development.
