IN a bid to spread the gospel of the sport of hapkido on Vanua Levu, instructor Jare Lalakai started his Northern tour this week
Lalakai, who is originally from Macuata, is the chief instructor of hapkido based in Suva.
On Wednesday, the former boxer conducted his first hapkido clinic in the North and was pleased with the turnout.
“I started with Seaqaqa and had the first clinic at the Fire Station there. There were about 40 people who came to try out hapkido,” Lalakai said.
“I taught them the basics and received good feedbacks from them.”
Lalakai said he would hold a session in Labasa next week.
Hapkido is a dynamic and highly eclectic Korean martial art.
