Hamilton 7s: Fiji wins first pool game against Wales, 54-7

FIJI Airways Fiji 7s team began their 2019 Hamilton 7s campaign on a high note this morning defeating Wales 54-7 in their first pool game.

The Kalione Nasoko captained side led 33 – 0 at halftime.

However Wales made a comeback in the second spell with their only try from Joe Jenkins which was successfully converted.

This was after Josua Vakurunabuli copped a yellow card.

Fiji’s try scorers came from Waisea Nacuqu, Meli Derenalagi, Aminiasi Tuimaba, Sevuloni Mocenacagi, Terio Veilawa and Mesulame Kunavula.

The national side will play Argentina at 2:42pm this afternoon and they take on Australia at 6:52pm tonight.
