LIFE in New Zealand has been rewarding to former Ba sugarcane farmer, Premendra Dass.

From his humble begining in his family’s sugarcane fields since young, Dass, 46, now earns about $80,000 annually in New Zealand as a container truck driver.

“I now work for LSG Sky Chefs, a trucking and catering company. I get paid well and my children get free education in New Zealand. The money I earn is far much more than what we used to be paid in Ba as a sugarcane farmer and labourer,” Dass said.

“Since my wife and I arrived in New Zealand in 2007, we have brought our extended family who are now staying with us because life in Fiji was hard.”

He brought his family to the Hamilton 7s yesterday.

They were draped in Fiji 7s team Fiji T-shirts and carrying Fiji flags.

“We are here to support the Fiji team because we are Fijians. I know they will win because we have good players.”

LSG Sky Chefs, is the brand name of LSG Lufthansa Service Holding AG, which is the world’s largest provider of airline catering and in-flight services.
