There is still an influx of guests arriving at Port Denarau Marina says its CEO Cynthia Rasch.

She says although the yachting season has come to a close, a number of super yachts are still berthed at the marina.

“There is a massive change in the way tourist arrivals have been behaving at the moment,” said Ms Rasch.

“We still have a few vessels that are enjoying the Fiji waters and the weather.

“By this time of the year, the tourist inflow usually quietens down, as it is not as busy as it was around two months back.”

She said the months of December, January, February up until the Easter holidays were usually very quiet for the local yachting sector.

“We are in the cyclone season and we have all our emergency procedures in place and we had activated that recently during Tropical Cyclone Mal.”

Ms Rasch said they were expecting one cruise ship to arrive at the marina by next week.

“There are a couple of cruise ships that were supposed to arrive earlier, however, did not make their journey to Denarau and mostly went to Suva.”
