THE Women In Business (WIB) is working on its annual project to help children with cancer in the country.
It held a fundraising breakfast yesterday at the Grand Pacific Hotel with the support of its members.
WIB president Dr Nur Bano Ali said all the proceeds would go towards the children’s cancer ward at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital.
“We love to support it because we are concerned with children with cancer. We will give it all the support we can,” Dr Ali said.
“We are happy and impressed with the support we have from people who really want to help us for this project.
“This is what we want to take out to the community and tell everybody that we all can do something.
“We all can do our bit too to contribute to this worthy cause.
“Be strong and live life to the fullest regardless,” she advised women.
Minister for Health Rosy Akbar said she was grateful to the Women In Business for organising such an event.
“It is also through mediums as such that we can get the message across to people that cancer maybe be seen as a deadly disease but if detected early there is a chance of survival,” Mrs Akbar said.
She said the dread and fear that could come with cancer diagnosis was the result of inadequate information to an individual.
