Drawn with Argentina, France and Spain, Fiji 7s coach Saiasi Fuli said they had put in the groundwork towards countering their opponents at the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series Emirates Airlines Dubai 7s.

“We have another tough pool and we have done a lot of research and analysis this week and we have put together a plan on how strongly we can play to come out on top in that pool,” Fuli said.

Fuli said they were well aware of the danger Argentina bought. “They are an ever improving team, very aggressive and a very physical team.

“France and Spain are also very well structured teams, and it’s all about how best we can prepare ourselves mentally and physically for the weekend.”

“We must maintain our composure and fight through every game to make sure we qualify from that pool.”

Fiji opens its campaign with France at 5.44pm today, Spain at 9.14pm and then Argentina at 1.24am tomorrow morning.

The Fijiana 7s side takes on Ireland at 5.22pm today, USA at 8.20pm and Great Britain at 8.29pm tomorrow.
