GRID extension that could allow the people of Beqa to be part of the Energy Fiji Ltd’s (EFL) grid extension project will be difficult, says Transport and Infrastructure Minister Jone Usamate.
“I think for the island of Beqa, grid extension might be a difficulty,” Mr Usamate said.
He said there were some maritime islands that were connected to EFL’s grid extension, but those were the islands closer to Viti Levu.
He added islands whose distances were longer had access to the solar system instead.
