Grace period accorded to Lautoka eateries and bakeries

A TWO WEEK grace period has been given to Lautoka eateries and bakeries to comply with health and safety laws before an inspection by the Lautoka City Council is carried out.
LCC senior health inspector Shalen Prem Singh said the grace period would allow the operators to ensure that their premises were up to the Council’s standards.
“We don’t want to penalise them immediately when we do find a breach because we all understand that they have a business to run,” he said.
