Govt to continue to take legal services to rural communities

PRIME Minister Voreqe Bainimarama said the opening of another Legal Aid Commission office in Seaqaqa this afternoon reflects Government’s commitment in ensuring that all Fijians accessed their legal rights, as enshrined in the national Constitution.

Government, he said would continue to take legal services closer to rural communities where access to legal services was a challenge.

“I am well aware of the challenges faced by your community which meant making expensive journey to Labasa,” he said.

“You will now be able to access justice here in your community.”

Mr Bainimarama also opened the Land Transport Authority office and told members of the community that services of transport issue s could easily be accessed within their reach.
