Govt officials urged to make use of Chinese scholarships

FIJIAN Government officials at a seminar on water source analysis and lab practice were urged to make use scholarships available through the Embassy of China.

The two weeks seminar held at Nasese was funded by China’s Ministry of Commerce and facilitated by Powerchina Zhongnan Engineering Corporation Limited.

The embassy’s economic and commercial chancellor, Li Zhi said there are scholarships available for those that want to pursue their Masters or PhDs.

She said academic qualification has become a vital need in order for one to strive in the job market.

“The Chinese scholarships provide programmes for people to study in China, Masters degree and PhD, Fijians are welcomed to make use of the opportunity,” Ms   Zhi said.

Total of 41 participants were given their certificates today.
