Gounder wins in Rakiraki

ANAND Sami Gounder won the Sigatoka Electric sponsored 18 holes individual stroke event on Saturday at the Rakiraki Golf Club.
His best gross score of 71 won him prizes worth about $120.
Gounder, playing on a handicap of 11 returned scores of 34 and 31 for each nine.
“Playing in 31 degrees heat and managing a score of 71 was a challenge but I think I kept to my game,” said Gounder.
Newcomer Shanol Lal won the overall nett prize with a score of 63.
“I am currently on a handicap of 25 and I am getting in the game quickly,” he said.
Policemen Edwin Raju was placed second in the nett division.
Michael Naidu, Asish Kumar and Aman Gounder were placed 3rd, 4th and 5th in the nett category.
Pita Angamuttu hit the nearest to pin on the 9th and 10th holes.
