NADI is slowly building up its Courts IDC preparation to restore its lost glory at the pinnacle tournament of the Fiji FA.
The Jetsetters last won the IDC tournament in 2002 when it defeated Rewa on a penalty shoot-out at Ba’s Govind Park.
And the man who was at the helm of Nadi soccer during that unforgettable era is confident that the green machine will be out to repeat its 2002 feat next month.
“I was the president of the Nadi team in 2002 when Nadi last won the IDC and I am grateful to again lead the side for this year’s IDC,” said Nadi soccer president Navneeda Goundar.
“We understand all teams are looking forward to the tournament and all teams will be aiming for the same mission of winning the title.
“We are still building up on our preparation and hopefully we will field a formidable team at the IDC.
“Like all other participating teams, we will give our best shot at the tournaments.”
Goundar said the side would be able to finalise its players after the closure of the transfer window yesterday.
“There will be a lot of players’ movement during this transfer window.”
“We will first see how many new players join us and how many are leaving before we can comment further on our IDC campaign.
“But like any other teams we will do our best to win the title.”
Under Goundar’s reign, Nadi has played in the O’League competition and had also few tournament titles including the recent Fiji FACT title.
