A good start is needed, if the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua is to topple the Crusaders in the quarter-final of the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific this Saturday.
Coach Mick Byrne is adamant his team can get results if they start the match well.
“We are just looking to bring a real physicality to our game because that’s how our boys play well, to get on the front foot early and win the collisions,” said Byrne.
The Drua coach knows the defending champion Crusaders are hurting after suffering defeat in the last round and they will be thinking to improve things in front of their home fans.
“They (the Crusaders) will be looking to improve from their performance in the loss to the Hurricanes last week. They had a good start but kind of niggles in between and let their opponents get back into the game.”
He also added his team would be engaging in community activities in Christchurch as a bigger Drua crowd is expected when the face-off this Saturday.
“When we were there last year, there was a large bit of Fijian community who came out in our support. We are planning to engage in more of those sorts of events this year and plus it’s the finals, so yeah, we expect a bigger crowd supporting the Drua in Christchurch this year.”
The match kicks off at 7.05pm.
