SAVE the Children Fiji collected more than $15,000 during its 2019 annual Ambrose golf tournament.

The annual tournament, in partnership with Telecom Fiji Ltd, is to raise funds to help Save the Children Fiji in its education assistance to needy Fijian children.

SCF chief executive officer Shairana Ali commended the sponsors of the event.

“We are thankful to Telecom Fiji for giving $7000 and STANDSS for giving $2000 and other organisations for their donations,” Ali said.

“The money will go towards our children who are in need. We’ll buy their school stationery and other things that can help them in school.

“The aim is for these children to have the best education. We don’t want them to drop out from school but to have a chance to live a life they want.”

She said 1500 children were at the beginning of the year.
