Gold medallist reaps rewards

Hard work and determination are words that best describe 29- year-old Dr Shavneet Sharma.

Dr Sharma of Labasa scooped a gold medal and the Mohammed Golam Saleh Khan prize for the most outstanding PhD graduate at the University of the South Pacific’s graduation ceremony where 2614 students were honoured.

The gold medal is Dr Sharma’s second. “I received my first gold medal when I graduated from the bachelor’s program,” he said.

Dr Sharma said having his wife and family by his side on his special day was the highlight of his academic achievements.
