The Jai Narayan College athletes this year will be going to the Suva Zone 2 as the underdogs.

These were the words of the school’s head of sports, Dan Vakamoce, after the school’s inter-house competition last week.

“We go in as underdogs but we know that anything is possible,” Mr Vakamoce said.

“After the inter-house competition, we will go back and check the times and distances and list the athletes who can represent us at the zone.”

He said winning a medal for the school would be a bonus on top of representing the school in any athletics meets.

Held at the school’s ground, the inter-house not only allowed students to show their athleticism but to also show team work as they went all out to win medals for their various houses.

The day was filled with friendly rivalry as students and teachers cheered on their athletes during the days events.
