A campaign has been started by Tavola Villa and Stillness Retreats to raise money to feed local families in their neighbourhood.
Tourism Fiji revealed that the Tavola Villa and Stillness Retreats started a GoFundMe campaign to help them raise money for this initiative and they have received generous donations from Australia, America and Canada.
According to Tourism Fiji the team at Tavola identified families who had been truly affected the most especially those who have families that have lost their jobs in the tourism sector adding that they have raised more than $2300 and will be able to feed at least 30 families.
The team at Tavola have set up relief packs whereby each box includes non-perishable items:
– flour, rice, yellow split peas, tinned fish, canned mutton, onions, noodles, cooking oil, breakfast crackers, baking soda, tea, Tang, soy sauce, turmeric, dish soap, body soap, toothpaste and a treat of cookies.
It was also mentioned that the boxes also have a personal note of hope and encouragement, from the donor who made their box possible.
Uplifting notes have read, “When you focus on the good, the good gets even better” and “You are stronger than you think, and more loved than you can ever imagine.”
