FIJI has proved in this edition of the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series that we’re very capable of winning the second tournament on one leg of the series.
The first was when it won the Hamilton tournament of the Australasian leg after failing to win the Sydney 7s. On the North American leg of the series, they lost in the US but won in Vancouver the very next week.
Now, we have won the Honk Kong 7s and this weekend is the sevens rugby competition of the Commonwealth Games.
Sevens series commentator Karl Te Nana has predicted that Fiji will be the favourites on the Gold Coast this weekend.
With the fresh legs of Sevuloni Mocenacagi and Jasa Veremalua already on board and the mission accomplished in Hong Kong, there is nothing stopping this team from grabbing the Commonwealth 7s gold for the very first time.
And surely fans will be there in great numbers support the our team.
With a weightlifting gold medal already in the bag and boxer Winston Hill winning bronze, Fiji will definitely be ending the 2018 Commonwealth Games on a high note.
They need the very best of our prayers and support.
Go Fiji go.
