Game on for Fijian table tennis reps

MENTAL preparation is very important for our table tennis players in the 2017 Pacific Mini Games, says Fiji Table Tennis Association president Anthony Ho.

Ho said the players should expect some tough competitions in Port Vila.

“Based on the 2015 Pacific Games, our toughest opponents would be New Caledonia, Tahiti and Vanuatu,” he said.

“Vanuatu and Papua New Guinea had all their sports training in China for the Pacific Mini Games for the last four months.

“Most of the countries are taking the competition very seriously, so we should be expecting tough challenges in Vanuatu.”

The Fiji table tennis team consists of sisters Sally and Grace Yee, Qi Wang, Philip Wing, Vicky Wu, Young Jae Park, Xuan Li, Harvi Yee, Iakoba Taubakoa, John Christopher, Merewalesi Roden and Akanisi Latu.

“Vanuatu has the best players in the Pacific region and they will pose the biggest threat. We are aiming for gold. Our players are mentally prepared and focused.”
