CHILDREN under the WOWS Kids Fiji program spent a day enjoying with family and friends who helped them forget about their daily struggles.
Fun activities and games were organised by the WOWS Kids Fiji team of volunteers who also brought out birthday cakes for three of the young patients in Lautoka yesterday.
WOWS Kids Fiji co-ordinator Viola Lesi said the day was planned for the children, their parents and their siblings to have a day of fun and laughter.
“It’s an important platform to have especially in our efforts to encourage the kids and their parents,” he said.
“It’s like a family day where we just enjoy each others company, talk to each other and for the kids to be children for a change.
“Going through cancer is really hard especially for a child so we hold these family days to try to help them have a little fun despite what they’re going through.”
The organisation holds a family fun day every month for young cancer patients and their families and every two months for those based in the Western Division.
