THE Fiji Teachers Union says the Education Ministry is to blame for the shortage of teachers in schools around the country.

FTU general secretary Agni Deo Singh claimed there were classrooms with more than 40 students being taught by one teacher.

“The human resource area of the ministry should have continuously been planning the increase in the number of teachers that we need,” he said.
