FOR the sixth year, the Fijian Teachers Association will be sponsoring the Hall of Fame Award for the Fiji Performing Right Association Music Awards to be held next month.

FTA general secretary Paula Manumanunitoga said they were always happy to be supporting FPRA.

“Not everyone is good in academics so this is a way where we could encourage our young people and our artists to express themselves,” Mr Manumanunitoga said.

He said not everyone could become a teacher or doctor, however, there was a sufficient amount of talent in the country and it should be recognised.

“We are pleased to be here to present a cheque and we hope this will come in handy with the awards that will be coming up soon,” he said.

FTA handed a $5000 cheque to FPRA executives for the hall of fame awards sponsorship.

FPRA director Inoke Kalounisiga acknowledged the continuous support shown by FTA.

“We’d like to thank FTA for their support which they have shown us today and the support they continue to show towards the FPRA annual awards,” Mr Kalounisiga said.
