There has been huge interest from people overseas in the Fiji Sugar Corporation (FSC) chief executive officer’s job, says Sugar Ministry permanent secretary Yogesh Karan.

Mr Karan said huge interest was also expressed by locals.

Outgoing CEO Graham Clark’s term will end at the end of next month.

Mr Karan said they hoped to recruit the best person for the important role.

“There has been a very huge response, both from locals and internationally,” he said.

“At the moment we are in the process of recruiting.”

Accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers is in charge of the recruitment process. An appointment expected to be made early next month.

Mr Clark’s contract which was for a period of three years expired in February 2020.

The FSC board had extended his contract for a year which expires at the end of February 2021.
