FIJI Sugar Corporation chief executive officer Graham Clark urged farmers to contact his office if they were not treated well by his team members.

His comment follows concerns raised at the northern sugar consultation where farmers informed him of rude staff members at FSC who failed to serve them well.

Seaqaqa farmer Bhim Lal told Mr Clark that the workers at the mill and office usually spoke in a harsh manner to farmers. Similar complaints were received from Waikoro and Wailevu sectors.

But Mr Clark assured farmers this would be looked at.

“If the FSC staff are not respecting farmers, I want to hear the reports from you all because that is sad,” he said.

“It should not happen and we are changing the attitude of FSC staff and calling them customer service officers.

“Farmers are our customers and we need to make your life better so contact us if you go through some situation with our officers.

“We know that we used to have less field officers and more farmers in the past, so we are trying to change this and have more officers to work with farmers.”
