FSC anticipates meeting cane planting target

Listen to this article:

THE Fiji Sugar Corporation (FSC) says because of the recent favourable weather and availability of seed cane, it will meet its cane planting target for this season.

The FSC, under its five-year Strategic Action Plan, hopes to produce 3.5 million tonnes of cane by 2023-2024.

A key factor in the miller realising this target is the continued planting programs with increased yield over the next few years.

In response to queries from this newspaper, the FSC said it was confident it would achieve the 3.5 million target within the specified time frame.
