The Fiji Rugby Union has terminated three staff members, grounds of which it cannot disclose publicly.

FRU chairperson Commodore Humphrey Tawake said the board was also planning to conduct an internal audit.

“We had to terminate three staff members and I cannot divulge the names or the offences now due to investigations being conducted,” said Tawake.

He downplayed speculations that CEO John O’Connor had been suspended, but said he was away on “annual leave”.

National operations manager Sale Sorovaki will relieve O’Connor for the next few weeks commencing from yesterday so that operations and domestic competitions remain unaffected.

More details in tomorrow’s edition of The Fiji Times.
