Rabuka on suspension and termination

THE People’s Alliance Party leader Sitiveni Rabuka believes the suspension of Solicitor-General Sharvada Sharma and the termination of Fiji Bureau of Statistics chief executive officer Kemueli Naiqama just a few days apart showed that Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama has lost control of his own government.

Climate crisis

FIJI did not cause the climate crisis, says Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama. He made this statement following the enactment of the Climate Change Bill and also urged developed nations at the UN General Assembly to be part of Fiji’s commitment to legislating a net-zero carbon emissions target by 2050.

Border quarantine case

ANOTHER new border quarantine COVID-19 positive case was recorded over the weekend, according to Health Ministry permanent secretary Dr James Fong.

FIVE vehicles packed with police officers yesterday had to break up a large group of young men drinking at the Nabua Housing area in Mead Rd following an alleged brawl at Nabua Village, Sukanaivalu Rd., Suva.

Acting S-G appointed

PRESIDENT Jioji Konrote has appointed Preetika Priyadarshni Prasad as Acting Solicitor-General, making her the first woman to take up this role.

Blood supply

THE country’s blood supply continues to be impacted by the current COVID-19 outbreak, according to the Fiji Red Cross Society.

RAJ fashion centre at Waimanu Rd was established in 1981 by its director Vasant Kumar. Mr Kumar said in those years everything looked fine and not many shops were open around him. He said he opened his shop at the same spot where it is still today!
